I still don't know how to organize my thoughts or get any kind of direction...I know this much. I need to start working out again as strong as I know how to. I need to start focusing my thoughts and my...meager...ambitions to get something accomplished other than figuring out what time it is, and a few small things somebody of stature managed to accomplish. I gotta stop getting caught up in details that aren't necessary...

Details like, what's the newest in clothing?
What songs just dropped?
What's the newest in sports?
What's new in Norwalk news?
....to be continued....yea right.

Maybe everyone feels this way. In some places, you have so few options that all you really do is the same stuff over and over hoping eventually they'll see an opportunity. Other places like a decent amount of this place, people have so many options that they get too comfortable and wide eyed by everything, we end up doing the same damn thing.

I'm confused as to what my next move is, and maybe most people are too, and even a decent amount of them are confused the same way I am. I just don't wanna catch myself doing the same damn thing everyday again. I wanna do more...

I think one big step is getting back in touch with reality...whatever that means. I gotta stop using Twitter for a while. Start doin life instead of talkin about it...

How the hell can you have so much to say about something you don't even care about? (Hence your re-naming)

Off the bat, I thought it was cute that you'd pick the number 12, when you try so hard to remove religion from a religious show. [If my tone sounds condescending throughout, it's not, I'm angry, ebcasue the only thing you see to want to do is cheapen it...

I mean...humans have always 'chosen' quantity of life over quality of life? What are you even saying. There's no choice in it, it's life. You can't maintain that a person is gonna be comfortable and safe for their 70 years of life, but you can maintain that more times than not, if a man and a woman get together, life Will happen.

It's actually INhuman to choose quality of life over quantity of life. That's why there were billions of people on the 12 colonies. The last time I remember humans choosing quality of life over quantity of life was the National Socialist party and they were just trying to find the super-man.

Anyways, let me see if I'm literate enough to follow your logic.

1) You think that there should only be a handful of survivors [Kill tens of thousands of people]
2) Because they need to clone themselves [To make back all the people...you decided to kill]

I dunno. Every part of your logic rubs me wrong, and I wanna just say, 'Stop it, you're stupid,' but I feel like you'll think I'm just hating and not learn a damn thing, because killing everyone just to work your way back up to a reasonable number of people that there already was an episode before you decided everyone should just die: that's the Ant and a Magnifying Glass School of Logic.

You got it in your head that it would be cool if at the end of things the humans ended up being no better than the Cylons. So your incredible idea is that after everything that happened in the series, it should have the most depressing ending possible. Oh yea everyone died and the few people who didn't might as well be Cylons, because they lost what humanity they had left, when they cloned thousands of themselves. (Who within 40 years will all reproduce through incest, or everyone will be 1 of 12 err 17 people)

The only ones who would do something like that are Gaius, Zarek and maybe Gaeta, but two of them are dead and the other redeemed so...just stop it.

I'm sorry I'm bein a little eccentric. I guess it'd be more depressing if Starbuck had a typo and jumped them into a star, but at least that wouldn't be willfully disgusting.

And No, you're ending doesn't address technology outpacing humanity, because the real ending offers a solution, while yours fully embraces the terror of it.

But you know what? It's my fault for picking a fight, when I didn't realize you decided you lost the fight a long time before this comment board and that you'd keep going regardless of it. I guess at the end of Season 2, when the Six inside of Gaius' head told him that she was an angel, you decided the show sucked and that was the end of it, to the point of rewriting it until the end so that all religion could be removed from the equation.

Oh yea and on my misinterpretation of Cavil's suicide. Ouch. I'll remember next time not to try and read into something that made the finished cut and actually aired, because odds are i'll be "Completely Wrong," because of an interview I didn't read saying 'we had a different idea in mind.' I'm sorry that I interpret the finished product and somehow changes from that aren't supposed to have any meaning (voluntary or otherwise).

But on that last note of not struggling for the show. Sincerely, you couldn't be talking to the wrong person about the strike. It took 2 days after it started for me to start the organization towards ending the strike at my college. We moved 1000 wristbands, petitioned hard and even picketed outside NBC's 30 Rock (which owns SciFi).

The amount of people I managed to turn onto Battlestar who normally wouldn't kinda got me pretty invested into it (we got dorms to start showing it as well as other shows that face cancelling twice a week). Battlestar came through in a big way especially since even the school had our back seeing as the show's religious and the university is Christian. If that didn't move boxsets, I'm not sure what else we could do.

I think I'm done apologizing for you. You're not a fan, you're just a fairweather atheist.

Shots Ring Out Everywhere: That Last Ep of BSG Had Points

For you, what character really made the show. What event really hit home in the series that resonated with you?

Dee's sucide hit me hard as hell. It hit this sad nerve in me as bad as when Boomer shot Adama in the first season and shocked the hell outta me like when the bombs dropped on Gaius in the miniseries.

But then there was when Gaeta and Zarek got let out the airlock. Completely different story, but that ep coudl've been a movie by itself.

@Gary. I like that idea somethin fierce. The Father, The Son and the Holy Ghost. Works in at least a couple strong ways.

@Shadow. I'll admit this much. They definitely sacrificed some focus this season, because all the other ones, it'd be one ep for the social politic junkies, one for the romantics and one for the faith vs. science crowd. sure the lines weren't that clear, but you'd get a good mix of those. This season was more 1 and a half note. Maybe the ending was too rushed. Maybe the strike killed some of the episodes a lot of people would've wanted, but this show was about so much, if you're gonna have such a narrow focus on it then this ending just about had to disappoiint a good amount of people.

@Ian. I'll admit this much. I'm not greedy and the second they started showing all of that Opera House business, I said to myself, alright this show is lost, but it's characters are always strong and it can really hit it's personal notes, because they acting is just about always there.

It hit a lot of those, but don't get me wrong I'd prepare people for this season before they ever watch it in the future. The show jumped the shark a bit when the final four were revealed and was in an interesting limbo from there.

I'm sad it had to end before it should have. When you take a strong look at the plot points of what happened in the finale, they were good, even though they weren't edited that great and really needed some more episodes to remind people why each of those points had such importance. it's like Watchmen, there wasn't enough time to get you as emotionally invested as you needed to be, but some people only needed to hear 'Battlestar is ending' to get emotionally invested again.

I thnk the saddest thing about the entire show is: that ending kinda made most of the things that happened in the whole series unnecessary and stupid. I mean, how do you decide to jump 150,000 years in the future and think the 4 years before that mattered much at all, especially when all they needed was Kara to type in some coordinates. It's not like everyone was infertile on the ships and Hera was the only one who wasn't. I mean...damn.

Why couldn't the show just get another season? or at least 10 more episodes. They didn't give us enough time to let go of everything they spent so long putting in place. I'm not sure I feel like watching this show much at all for the next few...

On a side note, I think I need to scour this season for hints that Kara wasn't really there.

+I kinda accept that everyone gave up their worldly possesions to live on Earth, I mean, look at when they went to New Caprica. They've been on tight ships with short supplies for years, I think they're used to sacrifice by now...but it did come off pretty 'someoone wrote this and it comes off a little gimmicky.'

Oh yea, and when it came to the business of What Kara is...I remember something from Cowboy Bebop, that went along the lines of, "religion is only as powerful as we say it is, and all our gods be dead once we are." Religions barely manage to last 2 or 3000 years, let alone 150,000. That's why they keep things as ambiguous as possible. It's not that important what you believe, as long as you can believe in something.

Battlestar did something I didn't think it was big enough or even had the balls to try and do. It linked religion to science, in that once science has gone as far as it can, we'll always believe something ties it all together. *Jerkoff Alert* I remember this Einstein quote, “It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity.”

Humanity always triumphs and I will always love Battlestar.

Battlestar Wars [The Finale]: Or what happens when the shots ring out?

There's plenty to nitpick about, but I really really liked this ending. Like, they did something I never expected a show to be able to do: it had it's cake and it ate it too. I mean, shows end in a few different ways (without getting canned and just dying). There's the big smash and grab where something massive happens that brings everyone together and maybe kills a few people. Or you can get artsy and really try to wrap all the characters up together...and then have a look this is the happily ever after future. Or maybe you strip the story of it's characters, because the themes and messages come first.

Then goddamn Battlestar Galactica decides it has to be a Time Magazine and AFI Top 10 Show damn near ever year that it's on. It decides that sci-fi is just the beginning of an idea and that you can always be more than the tools you've been given. It makes a finale that, in my opinion, could never have been as great as the series itself, but manages to be this brilliant reflection of the different reasons people love and more than anything at the least, greatly respect a show with a name only a fanboy could love.

I promise you your sci-fi novelist doesn't love this show for the same reason as your mom or your girlfriend or your hipster friends or even for some of you, your kids. They can all manage to find a good amount to love in this.

I'm so happy they showed the beginning and the ending at the same time. I mean really, the action was there, the drama was there with even some broad social politics too. When Galactica's back broke, it took me a while to pick my jaw up and get that stupid smile off my face. I think they managed to do it all and do it so well.

I'll say this much, this was an indulgent finale. A show this big that does so many different things right, has to have a lot of really different writers (who'd appeal to different aspects of why we love BSG). They all got a very healthy chance to end the show. God knows if Lost's finale is gonna be this heavy.

To tell the truth, I don't think I've been alive to watch a show nearly this heavy, from front to end, without the rush cancelled ending. It was a [[Lot]] to take in, but something you definitely have to watch again after you give yourself a little tour of the series again.

Guys...why is the best show in town over?

I get my SyFy...err...Sci-Fi on, but somehow no one else does.

Uh. I dunno. I think you're being more of a fan than a critic. Or even practical.

All you talk about is how you and all us Whedonites feel about Joss' work. (and there are a ton of us out there) But we're still a cult and that's not a demographic.

Like...you're being too nice with Serenity's box office, because theaters keep half of sales. Terminator is about to get canned if the movie can't jumpstart interest and maybe not even if that happens.

Watchmen did not do all that good for the massive advertising budget they pushed really hard.

It's sci-fi. The people in charge have always never understood why all the extra detail fluff is in the script. All they want is the big monster and cheap scares and anything simple, cute and clever for the flyover states to chow down on.

Sci-fi only works when someones commits 100%, brings the acting strong and it has a plot you can explain in a sentence and a title that rolls of the tongue and doesn't exactly scream sci-fi.

Like Blade Runner or I Am Legend or even War of the Worlds.

I think the sad, but ironic thing is: there's a big amount sci-fi whose fans would love to see them made into movies, which would make a lot of money if they were made right with strong name actors and good writing. And they would make a [Lot] of money.

But it's the saddest thing that (reasonably) studios want sure things. They don't mind a sci-fi once in a while if things happen to start to come together like that, but they need prove themselves as cheaper B movies that make money. They don't.

The cheaper B movies tend to have very sci-fi titles, not that many name actors, barely decent cut trailers and don't translate well into big int'l numbers.

That's it. They don't wanna make the big ones, if they can't get by on the small ones. It's basic business and it will never be kind to sci-fi. Not until a studio decides to get stupid and invested in big sci-fi.

We're loud, yes. But us cultists have always proven to be loud and unreliable. We only want the big stuff and we pirate the small. It's us.
